Roadtripping, alone to Francistown is not childs play

It is the 27 May 2011,a very chilly morning in Gauteng. I'm off to Francistown (North of Botswana)

I have my directions,a full tank, car documents, camera and luggage. I finally leave the house at 9:00am,I'm now headed towards the Martins drift border which is in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. By 11:am I was already at Mokopane a mall town in Limpopo, I stopped to get breakfast and a few energy drinks...the weather in here is a lot warmer than in Gauteng, I actually look a bit weird in my boots and scarf, nonetheless I now have my yogurt and 2 cans of Play energy drink

Back on the road I'm now on the N11 which leads me straight to the border, the drive became longer by the minute... There were lots of stray animals on the road, cows, donkeys, monkeys and warthogs... I got to see Pumba for the first time so of course I was thankful for the stray animals. 475K's later I am now finally at the border, check in was quick, and o was the paying for the road permit... And conveniently for me,there was a bereau de exchange at the border. I quickly changed my Rands in Pula's then off I went, the next town from here is Palapye, which is about 40K's away.

Fatigue is creeping in, my muscles are stiff... I have been on the road for 8hours and I still have 200k's to go before I reach my final destination. Luckily I had a very good friend of mine waiting for me in Palapye, I finally could sit back and be driven.

Its now 19:30 and finally I am in Francistown,Emoyo Villa

A little advise from me... Driving alone is dangerous, don't do it... Lesson learned
